Brian Rasmussen

Brian Rasmussen was born in Ringsted, Denmark in 1973.

He graduated from the “Royal Academy of Architecture” in Copenhagen in 2000. During his first year of school he won the national award “PRISOPGAVE KØBENHAVN”, (Denmark) with a futuristic project of a metro station. After his studies, he moved to Venice, where he now lives. In 2002, he won second prize for the national award “CRISTIANO D. IV´S BRYGHUS”, and he decided to open his own architecture and design studio in Venice.

In 2003, he began his research project: “The meeting point between Roman Baroque and Nordic classicism”. This idea became the theoretical fundament for many of Brian’s successful works. In 2004, he won the international art award “TARGETTI LIGHT ART AWARD”, which became the starting point for his career as a lighting designer.

From 2004 to 2006, he designed and developed a street lamp for Ringsted, Denmark, in cooperation with Louis Poulsen Lighting.

In 2006, he won a design award with two projects designed for EviStyle. Now Brian Rasmussen works with many important lighting design firms, for example Axolight, for which Brian Rasmussen designed Alrisha.
